In-Person & Online Worship
Sundays 10 - 11 am

Worship at Highlands is rooted in the United Methodist tradition and shaped by the world we are living in today.
We gather to tell the truth about what’s happening in our lives and our community, to make space for grief and hope, and to experience God’s presence together. Whether you have been part of church your whole life, are returning after a long time away, or are simply curious, you are welcome here.
Our services are thoughtful, creative, and participatory. You will find meaningful music, honest preaching, prayer, silence, and moments that invite reflection and connection. We draw from traditional liturgy while also making room for new voices, global music, and artistic expression.
Children are always part of worship, and people of all ages, abilities, identities, and backgrounds are fully included.
We often say that worship is the work of the people—something we create together.
Each month includes rhythms that help us stay grounded in our shared life:
First Sundays: We celebrate Holy Communion. In the United Methodist Church, this table is open to all. You do not need to be a member, or even certain about what you believe, to receive. You may also choose to remain seated or come forward for a blessing—both are honored.
Third Sundays: Dwayne the Donkey joins us! This beloved Highlands tradition brings joy and connection, especially for children and families. Dwayne helps us remember that faith includes laughter, wonder, and the simple goodness of creation.
You can expect a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. Come as you are. Participate as you feel comfortable. There is no dress code, and no pressure to say or do anything that doesn’t feel authentic to you.
If you are not able to attend in person, we offer livestream worship so you can stay connected wherever you are.
We hope you will join us as we seek to build a home where all belong.

Children's Sunday School
Sunday School is offered during worship for children of all ages including infants

Children’s Sunday School at Highlands is a place where kids are known, welcomed, and encouraged to grow in faith at their own pace.
Each Sunday, children begin in worship with their families and are invited forward for a special time before heading to class. This rhythm helps them feel that they fully belong in the life of the church while also having space designed just for them.
In Sunday School, children explore Bible stories through creativity, play, conversation, and hands-on activities. We focus on the big themes of our faith—love, justice, courage, belonging, and care for one another—so that children can connect the stories of Scripture with their everyday lives.
Our goal is not just to teach information, but to nurture curiosity, empathy, and a sense of God’s presence in the world.
All children are welcome, whether your family attends regularly or you are visiting for the first time.
We honor each child’s questions, personality, and unique way of learning.
Our trained and caring volunteers create a safe and inclusive environment where every child can grow in confidence, compassion, and joy.
