Children's Ministry

Children on Sunday Morning

All children are welcome to join us on Sunday morning to learn about the life of Jesus.  The children begin worship in the sanctuary with their family.  After Children's Time, the children leave for Sunday school or may remain with their family.  Children spend time with others in their age group, led by trained volunteer teachers. Childcare is available for children and younger starting at 9:30am.  All children are welcome!

A-Club

Children who are at least 6 years old or tall enough are invited to be part of the "A Club" for acolytes.  Contact Brandon or check out the bulletin board in the first floor hallway for meeting times.

Children's Ministry - Recent Events

We had a blast ice skating downtown on Sunday, January 15!  And more than 30 children took part in the Easter Egg Hunt on April 7. We will have more information on this year's Vacation Bible School coming soon.

Thanks!
Brandon

Vacation Bible School

Join us August 1-4, 2012 for Operation Overboard!

VBS will be August 1-4 this year (5:30-8pm Wed-Fri, 9am-12pm Sat).  If you have children age 3 - 11, please save the date now and plan to join us for Operation Overboard!  Registration fee is $20 per child or $35 per family (sibling group), which covers all our music, Bible, snack, games, and craft activities for 4 days!  We will need a few more volunteers and some folks who can donate snacks or craft supplies. Brandon will send out more information in coming weeks, but feel free to contact him at brandonjwc [at] yahoo [dot] com with any questions.

Wish List for Children's Ministry
We are in need of some items that will help make our classrooms more comfortable and enjoyable.

If you have any of these items that are new or very gently used, please contact me. If you do not have any of these items but are in a position to help, you may simply give a monetary donation.

- plastic storage bins
- book case (3-4shelves)
- filing cabinet
- 2 floor lamps
- small round colorful rug

Finally, I want to acknowledge and recognize all the parents who volunteer each month to spend a Sunday with our youth in Sunday School. Without the help of these wonderful people our Children's Program would not be what it is. A heartfelt thank you to: Matt Chiodini, Betsy Hunsicker, Jessica Laraway, Kristi Conroy, Becca Shramek, Tori Grode, Liz Moore, June Hicks, Karen Smith, Mona Ontaneda, Sara Pines and Amy Warner!

Contact me if you have any questions!

Brandon Cauthon is our Director of Children's Ministry

Brandon came to us in 2009 with more than five years' previous experience working with children, having served as Assistant Director for the Before and After School Program in the Cherry Creek School District, Assistant Day Camp Director with the YMCA of Metropolitan Denver, and Children's Church Leader with a Korean-American congregation.  Brandon's full-time job is as a flight attendant with United Airlines, and he is working on a degree in Human Services at Metro State.  We are very glad to have Brandon as a part of our congregation, and we appreciate the many gifts he shares with us in teaching our children.
